All things being well, I'm hoping to walk up all the county tops in England.
Some are very familiar, others less so or not at all.

Very familiar include Ebrington Hill the highest point in Warwickshire, Worcestershire Beacon at Malvern, Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire, Kinder Scout in Derbyshire.
There seem to be about 50 to climb and I might extend it into Wales.
Sounds like a waste of good time but I find hill bagging to be the best activity of all.

In this age of foreign travel restrictions I can't think of anything better. No passports, permits or visas are required.

Looks interesting. Enjoy the challenge.

The Cheshire one isn't right though, unless boundaries have changed. I only checked that one as I grew up in Cheshire and was interested to see where it was. (Fully accept I'll look a plank if I'm wrong ?)

Don't get too excited about climbing Nottinghamshire's highest peak.

Highest point in Cheshire is given as Shining Tor in another list.
I think Black Hill could be the highest in West Yorkshire.
Then there's the highest points in urban counties. Turner's Hill in the West Midlands is very familiar but the top can't quite be reached because of a quarry.
Holborn Hill is the highest point in the City of London but I'll also give that a miss.

My wife and I have a few days booked in Estepona in May, that break having rolled forward from both 2020 and this year, and a family holiday to Croatia in the summer.

A mate has a villa in the Algarve so we have a couple of golf breaks planned as well.

All the above Covid permitting of course. ??

Well, good luck with the Nottinghamshire county top - you'll not even need to get out of the car :) (edit - beaten to it)

My aims are to sell the house & move - for the first time ever - and to set about learning Spanish.

just had a look and was very interested in Nottinghamshires choice. But basically it is Silverhill pit tip. There’s a statue of a miner testing for gas there. In the context of hill climbs it would be one of the easiest. But the views are fantastic. Me and Missis T did it this year.

Silverhill tip was artificially raised by 5metres or so & was intended to be the highest point. But I think a resurvey has shown they missed it by about 0.7m. But if you count the sculpture, it might just make it??

If I do them all I'll rank them on best to worst.
One I really love is Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire by the access road. It's tarmac 1 in 3 for about half a mile before easing. For a cycling uphill it gets rated 11/10.

Correction: Should have said Silverhill and not Silverdale which is in Staffs.

That makes more sense. Cheshire is pretty flat so it's no surprise the high point is as close to Derbyshire as possible.

I took Black Hill to be West Yorkshire as well, the guy making the list needs to revisit his geography ?. That isn't even very close.

Have a week booked at Centre Parks later in the year - not risking anything abroad at the moment
