PL Mid-Season Break

In England we can get bad weather anywhere between November and April on a non-predictable basis, so when would you have a mid season break?

Come on, the clue is in the title. Mid season!

I presume under soil heating is part of the requirement of being in the PL so the days of matches being cancelled due to weather in the top division are long gone. Snow in Jan, Feb, March etc is irrelevant. You have the break half way through, mid season.

Just takes squad planning. Some rugby sides go all out on a strong first team and have to use academy players during internationals whilst others go for a larger number of less well known players. Keeps the league more even

100% agree, my team lost 23 players to the RWC and lose double figures during the 6 nations. We manage.

The main reason they are talking about a mid-season break is:-

A. To prevent injuries.

B. To prevent fatigue.

C. To help England do better to win tournaments.

Not due to the weather.

No point whatsoever. It will just mean a load of over-pampered men-children will go to the Caribbean for two weeks.

If they need a breather then skip the cash cow tours to the USA and Far East.

Poor lambs.

There was no mid season break in 1966 when we won the World Cup. Plus they played more games and the game was much more physical although this is probably countered by the speed of modern football.
