Played there today as a guest. I was very impressed by the course which I hadn't played before.

Some very interesting holes and challenging greens. Course is in lovely condition - quick greens and well cut fringes.

The course was designed by the same man who designed Augusta National - it even has a testing par 3 with a sneaky burn running right in front of the green.

Give it a go if you are in the area looking for a game.

I was based up in HMS Caledonia for a while back in 2004, whilst i was in the Royal Navy

was on HMS Kent whilst in refit. Really dipped in as Caledonia was chuck full to the rafters, so they had to accommodate us in the Hotel next to the course (King Alf?)

Anyway i spend 3 months up there and spent all my free time either playing Pitreavie, Burnt Island or helping to mix up the gene pool of Dunfermline.

Good times indeed

The course has a fantastic lay out from (my very hazy) memory
