I play Ping clubs, but i tried the Benross Rip Speed two and liked it. Who is a better manufacturer?

I would say Ping are better because they have been around for a longer period of time and have had more chance to prove themselves.

Don't underestimate Benross.......very good British manufacturer and great value...able to keep costs down as they don't sponsor any tour pro's.
RIP Speed 2 is a great driver, I used it ( and the 3 wood ) at West Hill in the Benross Be our Tour Pro day and was very impressed. Accuracy and forgiveness was spot on although the length doesn't quite match my SLDR, hence its gathering dust in the garage, but great club.
I did keep the irons, putter and the hybrids in the bag though and have been using them ever since.

Best ? Well your decision on ping being best is based on them being in the business longer ?
Surely it's whichever enables you hit the ball further/straighter (depending on what your trying to achieve).
Why did you decided to compare just those two manufacturers? .... and quite different ones at that.
Btw. Your username kind of gives away that fact that your ALWAYS going to choice Ping in any comparison !

Well, i have a Taylormade Hybrid, a Hippo and wilson sand wedges and a titleist bag so i dont have just Ping everything.

Im nott saying that Benross are a rubbish manufacturer. i admit thier clubs are good value for money and hit the golf ball well, it's just that i trust Ping more for a quality and forgiving golf club.

So based on the fact you randomly chose Benross and Ping to compare, and then chose to ignore the performance of the club itself, then yes Ping will win

If you look at many Golf Monthly equipment reviews you will find that Benross is frequently picked as the best value for money, many more times than other names, but not only that, they are also rated as the best in comparison to all the others on test. Unfortunately they suffer from the stigma of being cheaper than the top manufacturer's, like Ping, and as we all know, there is a lot of snobishness associated with 'whats in the bag.' Pick the club that works for you and laugh at those who have paid through the nose for a fancy name.

I have a ping driver and irons. Really good clubs but at the time of fitting/testing I'd go with whatever is the best fit.
Benross are a very under estimated brand. It's about what works best rather than going solely on the name

I have the original Benross HOTSpeed still in the bag... cost me the sum total of £5 and it far outperforms every other driver I've owned. I've most recently tried the Taylormade R1, and although it is slightly longer off the tee than the Benross, it is nowhere near as forgiving.
Went to a fitting at Pachesham Golf Centre In Leatherhead. Tried Mizuno. TM, Cobra and Wilson having already had a trial with Callaway's with the guy I have my lessons with as Pachesham isn't a Cally fitter. On the day, Ping were the best performing, albeit the G25 which aesthetically didn't suit my eye as time went on and I decided to go for the smaller (in Ping relative terms) heads of the I25

Back to the Benross V Ping question I have no idea but from the comments of those on here that have played and tried BOOMRoss they are excellent, underrated clubs
I'll be looking at Benross, Mizuno and Ping if I'm ever able to afford to upgrade. So Homer as I was saying...
Interesting concept. Might have to give that some thought. I know she has offered to clean Hawkeye's shoes in the past! Think I just got very, very, very lucky

I wouldn't say one is better than the other,the quality of components will be the same as both will be manufactured in china probably in the same foundry.
It's really which one suits your swing better,try them side to side.
As has been stated Ping is more expensive because the sponsor the tour pro's and have a huge marketing budget while Benross do not, a lot of people will
come on and say it's R&D costs but do you really think it cost £300 to produce a driver? (I'm thinking more £30) and the rest is mark up and brand snobbery

Don't quite see where this thread is going? Does not really matter who everyone else thinks is a better manufacturer because that is very subjective, if one or the other makes a club that you are looking for better, in this case driver, that suits you better that is the main thing. As a discussion of who is the best manufacturer is a very broad statement that can take into consideration customer service, cost, build quality, fittings and a whole load of other things.
