Having seen the Castle Stewart thread, it's prompted me to ask something that been in my mind for a while...

Whenever someone posts photos, they nearly always are "too big" - they "stretch" the width of the posts in the thread so that you have to keep scrolling left & right to be able to read the text - of all the posts in the thread and not just the actual one that put up the photo's .

No criticism, but does this happen to everyone or just me & my browser? Am I missing a setting somewhere - or could the photos be posted at a wee bit smaller size?

It depends on your screen width and resolution it is set to (or maxxed at)
My home 22" lcd has a standard resolution width of 1680 pixels wide.
If you have a standard 15" screen it may top out at 1024 meaning the 22" is for all intents and purposes half as many more pixels again fitting onto the screen.

As an aside, I try to post all of my pics at 800-900 pixels wide as most monitors can handle that easily enough.

The issue is the quality of cameras being used.
The more pixels in the camera, the bigger the pics posted.
You can however make them smaller if you use photo bucket
