PGA City Golf

I have reported these guys to both Trading Standard and BBC Watchdog Rogue Traders. I've done some digging, this guy has a list of 'failed' companies as long as your arm. I'm going through the official channels first as requested by Trading Standards. City Golf will get their just rewards when a leather clad Motor Biked Reporter starts turning up at their offices. However i'm also going after PGA themselves for sticking their head in the sand when these crooks decided to breach their own contract. I gave them every chance to assist but they simply said it was nothing to do with them, depsite their logo being all over the documentation. Lets see how they change their tune when Anne Robinson rips them a 19th Hole!

Not surprised as these type of companies do golf no credit. Not the brightest idea to join IMO.
Pleased do not be confused that if the PGA endorse a business that it is 'sound'. Generally speaking they could not organise a drinking session in a brewery.

Do people not introduce themselves on here anymore

Logically, the answer is (obviously) 'Yes'!

But the question invites an ambiguous reply. So no wonder you are confused!

:D

Doon. Offering a service that turns out to simply be self-serving with no apparent benefit to those that have paid sounds like it could be their area of expertise!

Nah, dig up a 12 month old thread and post some randomness.. its the future! ;)

Sorry about that. I ran a Google search to see if anyone else was in the same boat and it brought up this thread, so sorry if people losing thousands of pounds is only relevent last year.

Sadly I did think that if the company was endorsed by the PGA that they might at least try and help, but they simply washed their hands of it. I was merely posing on here so that if Watchdog want to follow up on the story, which it seems they might that more people can get in contact to add weight to the case.

Oh, and my names Dan, 16 handicap, big bertha irons, and a very reliable King Cobra driver...

I am just another victim! I was connected to the Nevill Golf Club in Tunbridge Wells thorough PGA City Golf, and the General Manager of the Club has just informed me that the privileges I received through a PGA City Golf deal has ceased due to the aforementioned company going under. This leaves me with 1 year of 2 year's subs down the drain and nowhere to play golf!

BE WARNED!
The GM forum clearly refers to the PGA City Golf going under and immediately starting a new company under a different name "City Golf" offering exactly the same terms! Why would anyone want to join this scheme knowing full well its past history.

PGA City golf have stitched us up as well. Having joined PGA City Golf in Sept 2010 we signed up for a 2 year deal with West Hove Golf Club (WHGC). We used this on happily on a regular basis and were contacted by PGA city golf in February of 2012 when we were offered to renew the agreement with WHGC a few months early and as an incentive to renew early they 'threw in' another agreement with another local golf club for 18 months from Feb 2012. This ensured we had another 2 years from Sept 2012 at WHGC as well. However in June 2012 a member of our staff turned up at West Hove Golf Club and was told that the PGA city golf agreement had terminated and that we could no longer use WHGC. It took us 3 months to finally get PGA City Golf to transfer the 2 year deal at WHGC to another golf club, Mannings Heath (MH). We have used MH since Sept 2012, however having rang MH golf club today to book a tee time we have been told that they have now suspended all PGA City Golf cards. Quite frankly I cannot be bothered to spend more time and effort chasing the elusive Bob Lewis and put this down to experience. I suppose I just want to get this off my chest!! and spread the word that you may think you have a good deal but it will not last the two years. DO NOT USE PGA CITY GOLF - YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY.

BTW - what have PGA City Golf got to do with the PGA? I'd have thought the PGA would be a bit cheesed off by now as their name is getting besmirched by association surely...
