Peter Allis RIP

Yes will be sadly missed, I loved his commentaries. Very down to earth and gave the golf what it needed with respect to perspective. To much nowadays we over elaborate or make something more important than it actually is .. enjoy the game, enjoy the day and enjoy your surroundings

Very sad to hear the news.

I know that in recent times his presentation had become somewhat dated but to many of my generation he and Henry Longhurst were our introduction to golf.

He still filled the Auditoriums when do his one man shows last year.

Great presenter (although obviously not to everyones taste).

Not a bad golfer either.

RIP

Even in the days before golf achieved more popularity, you didn't win 20 professional tournaments and play on 8 Ryder Cup teams without being half decent.

And then he spent half a century enlightening people about the game he loved. Not just the technical bits, but the sheer joy and fun of it.

A long life, well lived.
