Yes will be sadly missed, I loved his commentaries. Very down to earth and gave the golf what it needed with respect to perspective. To much nowadays we over elaborate or make something more important than it actually is .. enjoy the game, enjoy the day and enjoy your surroundings

Very sad to hear the news.
I know that in recent times his presentation had become somewhat dated but to many of my generation he and Henry Longhurst were our introduction to golf.

Used to love his commentaries and how he wasn't afraid to say it how he saw it. His series "A round with Allis" was always a good watch with some interesting guests and chats.
