So, having caused me a headache trying to cut a list of guitarists down to 10, I'm going to try and get my own back;

Come on Beezerk, your top 10 drummers please... :p

As a huge Genesis fan there are only 2 that matter

Collins
Chester Thompson

Lucky enough to have seen Led Zep at Knebworth, Bonham was awesome.

Ok here goes...

Phil Collins
Vinnie Colaiuta
Bill Bruford
Jeff Porcaro
Dave Lombardo
Gavin Harrison
John Bonham
Clyde Stubblefield
Mike Clark
Andy Newmark

The top 8 are drumming royalty imo and are locked in but float around position now and again.

The bottom two could be swapped with this lot on any given day...

Steve Gadd
Manu Katche
Jabo Starks
Zigaboo Modeliste
Bernard Purdie
Bill Ward

Some obvious massive names missing from my list but I'm not really a fan so :p, I'm not that much into jazz either so no Buddy, Elvin etc.

Damn how could I forget Pick Withers? Whatever happened to him? Just disappeared after he left Dire Straits.

Damn how could I forget Pick Withers? Whatever happened to him? Just disappeared after he left Dire Straits.

According to a well known on-line encyclopaedia "Withers left the band in the summer of 1982, soon after completing the Love Over Gold sessions, to spend more time with his family and to pursue jazz music. He reportedly told an interviewer that he had succumbed to a growing feeling that there was nothing left in the music for him and that he was in danger of "becoming a rock drummer".

I keep looking at the guitar ones & thinking about ones that others have chosen & there's others still that could make that one that haven't been mentioned by anybody. Did you forget, or did his relative absence just make him less memorable, if you get what I mean?
