it can't be a sensible system..... they assume everyone would, given the chance, play to something like their potential....
Why is the competition off the white tees, then? However we now have 3 holes at least where a lot of seniors cannot reach the fairway and 3 doglegs holes where a lot of seniors cannot get to the angle of the dogleg off the whites.
Probably because it is a club competition that seniors are playing in.Why is the competition off the white tees, then?

If the Seniors section voted to have competition off whites rather than yellows, then surely that is decision made. If there are a good amount of that Seniors section, could there not be consideration to split it into 2 competitions. White tees for the majority, and a separate one off yellows? Or, would there only be 2 or 3 that would play off yellows?Years ago there were many complaints about seniors comps always being off the yellow tees* (including from me ) so we now have about 4/5 a year off whites.
With the exception being The Seniors Club Championship
Our seniors are from age 55 and even on a personal level my decline in length did not really start until I was in my late 60s.
At first read, i agree that can be irritating, but I put my situation forward in ‘mitigation’ ( lightheartedly) .It always amazes me that players (especially seniors) with handicaps of 18 plus expect to get on every green in regulation and get cross when they don’t score lots of pars!
