Parking in Newcastle

The A1 is still much faster than the A19 even with all the roadworks, I do that route most days with my job and I'd never consider the A19 unless the A1 is closed or a bad jam etc.

A1 round the Metro Centre has been chaos this week with half-term, been caught 3 times, just giving some choices for him coming to the area😃

You're a crazy guy
I agree about the Metro Centre, only a nutter would carry on past the Angel on the A1 at the moment, if you read my previous post I suggested bearing right at Washington services down the A194 and going to Heworth metro that way :thup:

Agreed mate, was meant to back up your post, if he doesn't know the area, giving to many options might confuse him.😁

Not familiar with Newcastle but been to Gateshead a few times.

Plan to use the Heworth metro so I'm looking at M6, A66, A1 and A184.

I'll take your advice and steer clear of the Metrocentre and Angel.

Wise choice mate, as already mentioned the A1 towards the Metro Centre is chaos at the moment. Don't forget the A194 before the A184, it's just a matter of keeping in the RH lane of the A1 as you get to Washington Services, it's well signposted (South Shields I think) and from there it's a doddle getting to Heworth. Retrace your drive on the way back and you'll be half way down the A1 laughing at those still trying to get out of town

Went like a dream guys.

Flew past a massive jam on the A1 heading to the A184.

Parking at Heworth was a doddle and cheap.

The locals and the stadium were absolutely fantastic.

The city was buzzing, the local bars must have taken an absolute fortune.

Just made it past Scotch Corner before they shut the A1 on the way home.

Oh, and we won.
