Anyone care to share their experiences or worst bouts of the golfing phenomena of 'paralysis by analysis'?

Cheers,

Paul

Ask anyone on here. Most on here seem to think I suffer from it! Personally I am an analytical type and so I find the stats I keep and the practice/lessons I do are helping me. Granted the 2013 season was poor and I went from 10.1 to 11.4 but the quality of the ball striking and club path were improved. Prepared to take a step back to move two forward again, well three forward once the chipping gets to where I want it

Many moons ago (well 5 or 6 years) when I didn't really understand golf, thought I was better than I was and was having regular lessons I used to suffer from this. I literally used to stand over the ball with so many thoughts in my head it was a miracle I could swing the club at all.

I used to play with someone who analysed the golf swing so much he couldn't think about anything else , problem was he simply couldn't even takeaway the club cos he had so many thoughts going on in his head, it was bizarre to watch used to take about 2mins every time he addressed the ball , I'm much more of a grip it and rip it sort of guy
