Had to tell you guys about todays 7th Par 3, the tee is at the top of a hill approx 30 yards above the hole 120 yards away. We had just played our shots, (just off the green on either side), and me and my mate waved the next pair to tee off whilst we stood by the side of the green. First shot comes down and lands 3 feet from the hole, it was great, then the second comes down and it lands 2 feet from the hole. We stood in awe as the pair came down, and putted out. We congratulated them on the shots, and finished our putts and followed them to the next tee. Off the tee, one chap hooked his drive out of bounds and the other sliced his shot into the trees. Thats what I love about this game, one second your up, next your down, but hopefully you finish on an up.

Ha Ha! the good thing about golf is that no matter how badly you have played there is always that one shot, that diamond that would have had Poulter shaking in his spikes if only the other 80 had been as good. Then there is always the fact that tomorrow is going to be better.Love this awfull mind destroying game.

Too right. We lost the first hole to a 24 h'cap who hit it to 3 foot for a virtual gimme birdie. We lost the second to an up'n'down from 65 yards for par nett birdie. 2 down after 2 - were we worried?

um

um

Yes

started last Saturday's medal with a 7 on the 1st and a 7 on the 2nd.

Just as well the 2's comp was on, I got 2 shares of the 4 made on the day :D

75% punch 7iron straight into the wind (gale) on the 120 yd 8th, 8ft putt :)

Gentleman's persuader (7wood, yes I'm old) with the wind to 180yd 10th, 15 putt :D

didn't come in the top 10, what a stupid game ;)

It's post like this that make me realise what I must look like when I play.

Today on our par4 5th, Sliced the ball into the semi rough, duff an iron towards the green then wedged on to the green at about 4 feet from the pin and holed the putt on our trickiest green to walk off with a par and a smile as wide as a motorway!!

Then sliced the drive off the 6th keeping in in bounds by about 6 inches!!

I go out regular with my mate who is a high handicapper, think he is off 21 at the moment.

Well anyway, he visits parts of the courses I never knew existed, however some of the saves for par he gets in and some of the iron shots he gets out the bag are unbelievable.

We played an away day at a course on our county cards, played through a par3 as you mention, he put it within an inch of the hole and mine was about 20ft away. I scraped a three and he was down in 2. Tee'd off infront of the guys who let us through and he slams a tree, the ball comes back towards us and one of the guys catches it and throws it to him for another go. Brilliant!

Ash!!
