Panic !!!!!!

my misses has just started a managers job at TESCO she is working till 12 midnight to night and is back on at 8 in the morning till 7,the shop has to close at 4-30 due to sunday trading but they are muting at reopening at a minute past midnight on the boxing day morning, her store is expecting to take in excess of £3.7 million the week up to christmas eve, recession what recession.

The trick is to have all the shopping out of the way except for the fresh stuff ya might need ,then park up away from the shops, go for a stroll around , just chilling out , its christmas , the hustle & bustle is all part of it

HO HO HO......................................... MERRY CHRISTMAS ..........................

The big rush to the supermarkets ( super is not how I would describe them ) is because the great British shopper knows they will all be open 24/7,or nearly so. There is no incentive to plan ahead and have everything bought before hand.Even so called perishables can be bought early. Does no one have freezers? The whole thing is madness.
Bring back Christmas to the 4's, 5's,6's. Children had presents at Christmas and birthdays only. They were special. Christmas lunch was special, a one off for the year.
Happy Christmas and a great New Year.
Regards.
The Old Curmudgeon

1 present left to get, a late idea for father in law (reserved from Argoos) ready for collection at 9am tomorrow. Then we have to pick up our meat order from our very special butcher in the next village, then we have to collect our free range eggs from the farm in the village next to the next village. Then I am dumping her indoors in Morrisons to get everything else. I have made a list for her though.

Will you be knitting your own stocking :)

No, knitting truely is womens 'work'... And, I don't hang up a stocking as such as that would be indicating I would be expecting gifts where I am not...

The point I was trying to make is that Christmas with a little bit of extra effort [and maybe a few extra quids] needn't be the commercialised enterprise it has become...
