overgrown rough

We had this conversation on Saturday, our first cut was aprox 3+ inches and covered in grass cuttings, 3yds more was knee deep jungle. As said earlier anything off our fairway and you either chip out from trees or have no shot to green etc. the problem with ours are most our fairways lean one way or the other do unless you hit it perfect you normally end in the first cut. Saturday was bad as ball just disappeared as a too long and b under the cuttings so you literally had to stand on it to find it. Chatted with the pro after and he agreed we are club golfers not pros lining up in the us open. I think my biggest gripe was the cuttings I blob bed at least 4 holes because of lost balls when I should of really been able to find them.

And breath rant over!

I understand the greens have plenty to do after the bad weather but we've had three weeks to sort this out now.

I was <10 foot from the flag on a par 3 today and couldn't see my shoes let alone the ball as the rough around the green was shin high. I pity the poor green keeper as my lawn at home is constantly in need of a trim but our group lost several balls that must have been only a few feet from being birdie-able material.

fairways get narrower every year, first cut of rough gets deeper . new bunkers are put in just at my driving distance. trees planted years ago are now so tall i can't cut the corner at doglegs any more , and they are making the hills steeper nowadays. maybe it's just me. but still can shoot my age.[net of course ]on the odd occasion .
