Order of play on the green

The discussion is about stroke play - 10-2 only covers stroke play

The option to play out exists under 10-2 and does not apply to matchplay. If you played out when requested to mark your opponent has the option under 10-1c to request you to replay the shot.

Sorry can I be a pedantic pain - clear that this all refers to stroke play and fine - then you mention my opponent - in the context of stroke play I don't think of my PP as an opponent rather he is a fellow competitor. To be honest I've never considered that if my fc played out of turn in stroke play I could ask him to replay his shot - or are we only talking here in the context of putting and specifically holing out. Through the green no such rule applies and order of play is etiquette and no punishment or replay requests if wrong order?

In the sentence mentioning the opponent he's talking about matchplay.

You can't ask someone to replay a shot out of turn in strokeplay.
