Open coverage, good or bad?

I watched the final round in France. BBC pictures and French commentary. For once, I really missed Allis and Brown etc - the drama of the final few holes would have been so much better in English (for me anyway)
Overall, the coverage was excellent - especially early on when more of the unknown golfers get seen. I love the pace of the coverage, the lack of commercials and the flawless photography.

Without reading every post, I thought coverage was the best yet, all day golf on the BBC, the first time they have ever got it right.

Still think Lineker needs moving on, just not my cuppa, when it comes to Golf presenter...Sorry.

I did have to Sky+ it as CBeebies is the viewing in my house in the day :( ;)

I thought it was pretty good this year - but agree that overall Sky coverage is better quality. Not having the Open in HD was a strange decision. Much better coverage through the course this year. In the past the BBC have had a tendency to go from green to green, so you just putting highlights; saw more complete holes being played, which is more interesting for learners like me, who watch to see how the pros play the course.

7/10

I thought the woman who was commentating out on course (apologise but I can't remember her name now :o) was absolutely first class. Very informative, and really gave a good account of what faced each player on their approach shots.
The Slo-Mo was fantastic too. A bit disappointed that it wasn't shown in HD but otherwise good coverage I think.
