Teed off this lunchtime on an invitation comp at a local course (not mine)
I've played here before a few times, usually with shocking results!

Not today!

Played in pairs and between us, considering our handicaps we played very well. Finished with a 65 on a par 70!!!

I have to admit that my partner contributed to many of the good scores (lower handicap than me and he hits it a mile!) I did keep with him on quite a few holes, matching his scores.
We only had a shot per hole too which made the round a fair bit harder. Possibly one of the best rounds I've played to date. Just wish I'd recorded all my shots during the round.

Anyway, I'm now sitting at home feeling pretty pleased with myself and looking forward to my next round!

Congrats on some great shooting You should be pleased with yourself with them scores particularly when your not on your own track.

Did you win the event or were you pipped at the post?

Didn't win unfortunately. We played as a four ball. The other two played a blinder (63) and came home in 3rd to win a prize.
It got me mulling over the dropped shots and thinking if only!!!!

Strange how we analyse our game afterwards isn't it?

Finished with a 65 on a par 70!!!

Nett? (rhetorical).

I've not had a 65 for a long time. 5 under is pretty damn special.

I love it almost regardless of score (unless I make less than 32 points or so).

I had a nett 65 (-5) in the last medal and still only came second. Thats good shooting though so rather than fret on the what may have beens, focus on the quality of your striking and the putts you holed
