Well our club made the leap and it started off today opening the booking slots at 18.00 this evening, I almost booked my fourball for friday instead of saturday and inside the minute or so it took me to twig on over 75% of the tee times were taken, luckily there was one close to our normal time of 11am but bloody hell, there are no prisoners taken here at all!
Is it like this for everyone?

I have written a few times about a club near me that has had all sorts of problems due to a tee booking system. Many members have quit because of it because a band of well organised seniors are simply taking all of the slots that are not booked for hotel guests etc. Many have left simply because they cannot get on their own course.

Quite honestly I have been so spoilt at Royal Ascot that I couldn't contemplate joining a course where you have to pre-book. Apart from club matches and competitions you just roll up and go out. As both nines stat at the clubhouse you can often go out on the 10th if the first is busy.

My municipal home course has gone computerised in the last few months. They took all my details for it including my shoe size!! They have the view of booking online system, but for a municipal I feel this a step too far, the idea of a pay and play is you turn up when you want and play, yes you might not be able to get on straight away but within reason. I just feel if they do this then some members will abuse this system as they abuse the old one by booking the same tee time every week months in advance.

Apart from the said abusers, the system is now working fine and due to being a 9 holer it works out well on the back nine. I do worry for the coming months when the fair weather/hackers return to our fairways and pack the place out and ruin a decent course with their Dunlop's. I shall start a thread about these types Grrrr.

Brendy it works really well for us, We've had it now for some time. If I fancy a game say next Tuesday I can call it up at home, see what times are available and book whatever I fancy. The only day we cant book from home is Sunday.

We'll speak more about it on Sunday, when I will see the colour off your eyes and your nerves rattling about.
