One for the retired coffin dodgers

Always puzzled me why retired folk who have all week to post, choose to play on Saturday mornings when they can play any time.

Now I no longer work, I still always play one Saturday morning! 😁
Your post puzzled me. Folk who have all week to, post? Then you say, I still always play, one, Saturday morning? 🤔

As one of the aforementioned RCDs, I welcome the weekends as I'm far more likely to remember which day it is. Mon to Fri, I sometimes forget and have to find out somehow.
This week has been a fine example. On holiday in the Dorset/Devon border area of the south coast. Easily forgot which day it was several times.
Sunday lunch was two massive scones, clotted cream and jam in Beer - that 's the village - the scones were not drenched in beer. As that was about 50% of calorie requirement for the day, didn't eat much more that day. It just happened to be Sunday - could have been any day of the week - it was just where we were that day.
This is the way to enjoy retirement, I find.
Golf comps are mainly Saturdays - so Saturdays are usually reserved for golf - as Mrs V understands.
I try to play with some non-RCDs on those days. Weekday games are dominated by fellow RCDs. That's just the way it is.
It was only in the last 12 years of working that I had every Sat and Sun not working, so those weekend-habits were not established for me.

Club roll-ups for bowling are Tues/Thurs/Sat. League on a Wednesday. Club comps are usually Thursday PM, after roll-up, 2 rounds on Friday, Saturday PM with a final on Sunday.

Out of the competitive season, there’s only the roll-ups. I could be playing in a Thursday roll-up but often only have a rough idea what day it is. As for competitions, I don’t know what time I’m playing, what round it is nor who I’m playing - that sort of detail gets left to my PA. She still uses a diary but as far as I’m concerned I’m retired and just chilling through my days.

The fact of you having a wall calendar puts you firmly in the RCD category :)

(And yes, I have one, and turning the page by the 4th is a bit speedy ...)
Its not merely the calendar that marks me out as an RCD

No microwave oven
The Times delivered Monday to Friday
No clothing item made from denim (same for Mrs V)

Probably many more things - but can't remember what they are right now.

I met up with my old boss after he retired and said he never wears a watch. He gets up when he's awake, goes to bed when he's tired and eats when he's hungry. The only time he wants to know what the time is, is when he is teeing off.
I've done the same and haven't worn a watch in 23 years. :)

My wife uses a wall calendar.
And she has an old fashioned paper diary.
AND she uses Google calendar.
I think that counts as OCD as well as RCD.
Heaven knows how (or if) she keeps them synced.

My daughter bought me a watch for a birthday present many years ago luckily I was able to get a refund for her!

Mrs: What time is it?
Me: I've no idea.
Mrs: Well, look at your watch.
Me: I can't read it without my specs.
Mrs: Put them on then.
Me: I don't where they are.
Mrs: Well, look for them then.
Me: I don't need them right now, but I think they might be on the bedside table next to your watch.

If you've had a conversation like this, you are, or will be very soon, a member of the RCDs.

Totally agree, I normally get the man from Asda to deliver my shopping but if I need something extra, it's Monday to Thursday and as Tesco opens at 6am, I'm normally home by 6.30am.

Crikey!
If you're out and about at 6:00 am Monday it must feel like Wednesday by 4:00 pm.

I always get up in the same day I went to bed 🙂
