For the retirees among us...
Do you feel different about the weekend?
Even though every day is a weekend, I still feel different.
Shopping, gardening, washing the car etc.
My next door neighbour (76) always washes his car on Saturday at 10 am (he's still out there now).
Do you have any weekend habits even though every day is a weekend?

Weekends are weekends! Have the g/kids alternate Sat afternoons, Sunday roast, etc. Other days are regular activities with different groups of prople most days. Weekends are more family orientated.

What annoys me is bank holidays. Most of those working get the day off. I don't.;)

Still play golf twice at the weekend - and (maybe) just once in the week. But I guess that's 'cos one of my regular partners still works in the week.

For me weekends feel different mainly due to what's on TV! Sport in particular...

Otherwise much the same as any other days of the week.

I used to work every Saturday and even though it is two years since retirement it does seem odd not to do so. At this time of the year Saturday is mainly gardening or going out somewhere for coffee.

Surely one of the benefits of retirement is not having to battle a scrum at the shops on a Saturday morning 🤷‍♂️

100% I just can't get my head around it. People just get stuck in habits I guess.

I mean I'm not retired, but I never ever shop at weekends .. I make sure I do all my shopping in the week to avoid the Choas

If it's Saturday I go to football.
I'm in Utcheter now to watch them play Highgate.
Bet you don't know where that is.
Give you a clue. It's the old Roman name.

Much less so than before, but I know today is Sunday and I do something today I don”t do and can’t do any other day of the week. Go to church (will be asking for forgiveness for all the wee swearies i uttered during yesterday’s medal). And just that makes Sundays feel quite different.

Monday to Thursday we have a cup of tea in the evening. Friday to Sunday we share a bottle of wine. Other than that, weekends are pretty much no different to any other days.

PS. I am offended by the term "coffin dodgers". I far prefer the term "oxygen thieves" 😂

Apart from most shops are shut here in Spain on a Sunday, all the days are the same. Meet up with friends most days for a coffee/beer/tapas/meal.

I have been dodging a coffin since my late 30s.

My family circumstances meant nothing really changed for me until the death of my wife and I was then able to play golf on a Saturday.

When I fist stopped work I did loads of stuff that I had previously not had the time to do but the novelty wore off after about 3 years.

I have always avoided the town centre on a Friday or Saturday.

Sundays for me (since the kids have grown up) have always been about watching sport on the box so no change there.

I feel differently about the golf I play on Saturday and the rest of the week. The club feels very different - on Saturday all those who work in the week are desperate to play and keyed up for it. Seniors Monday comps and Wednesday four ball are just so much more relaxed. If it wasn't for my working mates who can only play Saturday I wouldn't bother.
