Oldest gear

Don't use now but I do still have a set of Mizuno TP9 blades circa mid to late 80s, got handed down to me as a junior by my dad absolutely loved them

Also have a titleist DCI Stsrship driver loved that club made a hellof sound when you hit it though

Still got a set of Tommy Armour 845s lurking somewhere. They were a popular club back in the early 90s, played by quite a few on the PGA Tour.

Got my eye on an set of TP9’s on eBay at the moment

Got a set of Pinnacle Irons that I bought 2nd hand in 1990, they must have been 15 years old back then.

My Dad came for a visit and I dragged him out for a quick 9 holes, and he took them to play with, they still hit a lovely ball.

I love them, once I'm playing again properly I'll try taking them out on the range the for a round or 2 next summer.

The long irons are so small in the head, but irons feel sublime when hit right

So having looked through my garage on the back of this thread.. I can put together a bag of the following..

Driver: Titleist DCI starship 10.5 degree (late 90s)
3 wood: Titleist PT 3 wood 14.5 degree(late 90s)
Irons: Mizuno TP9 (mid 80s)
Sand Iron: Ben Sayers blade (early 80s)
Putter: Ping Zing 2 (early 90s model)

Bag: Green Jaguar leather bag

May have to give it all a go the club heads are tiny on all of them...

Do it!

The first steel head drivers were smaller than persimmon due to their weight, see below.

I've still got a quid Homer gave me in 1988. Probably about as rare as a penny black.

Certainly wouldn't be legal tender anymore. I must have been drunk.

I definitely remember the Ford event and use to look forward to it and getting a nice bag tag (I use to collect them from events/clubs I played at and had them all on the bag) and other goodies. Never did too well in it though. The oldest thing I've still got is my Anser 2 putter from c 1982
