Old people again!!!

I apologise if I have offended anyone on this forum, it was not my intention to get peoples backs up.

I'll be more careful from now on.

Have a good week.

You don't need to apologise more than once to anyone. If somebody doesn't want to accept it then that's their problem. Keep on keepin' on fella.

I'll tell you what, fellas. I'll just agree with everyone all the time, and believe without question everything that's written. Defeats the object of a forum but, hey, if it stops me getting it in the neck every time I speak up then maybe it's a small price to pay.

Have a good week all, I genuinely mean that. I will. I'm off to Portugal. Monte Rei here I come.

Sarcastic post or not, have a good week fella. It's a cracking place to go.

Not sarcastic in the least mate. I don't mean any ill will to anyone here.

Love the Algarve, although it ain't cheap! Doing Monte Rei for the 7th time, Laranjal, Vale da Lobo Ocean, Quinta South and Victoria. Belting tracks all of them.

You said in an earlier post there is 6 minutes between tee times. Now I know you have been playing for about a year and are so much better than the Old Fogeys who hit there drives about 150 yards can I suggest who is the real villian.
It is your club who are sending out groups every 6 mins, which means too complete a round in 4 hours it would mean clearing 40 groups thro' 18 holes which would have 2.22 groups per hole (and this includes perhaps 4 par 3's)
It's your club to blame not the golfers, at least 8 minutes between groups is the absolute minimum.

Agreed - analysis spot on - and that's from a very old fogey.

Er, its not the old guy's fault for hitting the ball, the club made him do it?

Oh me sides! LOL loads... also from an old fart.

Sorry, they do allow 8 minutes. I was wrong.

I'm pretty sure it was 6 minutes, either it's changed recently or I'm wrong.

It would seem that even having 8 minutes isn't enough.

By the way- I love all old people! Even the ones that hit balls at me.

Have a good one gents!

Going back to the OP,
They were well out of order driving while you were still in range. But
if they were in a buggy, would they not be quicker than you?
And isn't there something written down somewhere that says you should call quicker groups through?

I quite agree - should have called them though and then whacked a drive up his backside to return the favour!

I think the fact the guy just refused to apologise is a major issue and something really should be said to them about.

I was involved in a very similar position this Saturday, however I was the culprit and the one in the wrong. We were playing a 3 Man/1 Lady Texas Scramble, the group in Front had already lost a hole. We were on the 7th hole and took the Ladies drive, this left us with 215 Yards to the green, up the hill and in to the wind. The other 3 played and came no where near the green, I said to myself I had no chance of getting to the green with my 5 wood so as they were holeing out I played. I hit a 1 in 1,000 shot, straight out of the screws, I still didnt think it had a chance but I shouted FORE to the group who were just leaving the green. It pitched on the green but missed everyone. I immediately left my group and made my way to 8th tee and apologised for being in the wrong to all and explained that I didn't think I had a hope in hell of reaching the green, I could put 100 balls down and never hit that shot again.

3 of the group were fine and thanked me for my apology however one guy who is known as a right n*bhead at the club ignored me and said something when I turned my back and started walking away.

In regards to letting them through, I wouldn't of done so. I only let a group through I believe it will benefit them. If your constantly up with the group in front, waiting to play shots ect... letting them through will only make things worse for you as you'll be waiting even longer and the group in front havent let you through so they won't let the group you've just let through, through.
