As chance would have it, an old guy (70's I think), drilled a ball right past me today.
Once again the course was really busy and I was on our dog leg hole waiting for the pair in front of us to finish putting so I could play my second shot.
Then all a sudden, a bloke from the pair behind us then decided he didn't want to wait anymore and he hit a driver!!! He was only 150 yards away because winter tees are being used on that hole at the moment and his ball missed by only a few feet!!!
I turned to look at him and what I'm guessing was he wife and he just stood there and looked at me.
I opted to let it go and report him once I got back to the club house.
A few holes past and even though he was within 20 yards of me at times, when he was putting and I was waiting to tee off, he still didn't apologise.
Then one of the pro shops guys came over to us in a buggy to offer us some refreshments, so I took this opportunity to tell him about it.
He then went straight over to them to have a word....and a few minutes later, the prop shop guy went back to the clubhouse.
By this time, I'm now waiting to tee off on the 10th hole and the pair behind us then drive their buggy to waitin 20 feet of us and just stare at us, giving us evils (as the kids would say). I was gobsmacked at their arrogance and was close to saying something but I thought 'what's the point'.
They left the course on the 15th, probably because the course was playing so slow.
Me and my playing partner were in shock, 1- why someone would tee off when you are only 150 yards in front them?
2 - Why you would not apologise?
3 - Why you would then get dirty looks to the blokes you almost hit with a golf ball?
Their behaviour was disgusting and now I have had time to think about the situation, I think they should have been kicked off the course.
On the plus side.......I made friends with a couple of blokes who were playing on front of us today. They both play at a neighbouring course and play off 1 and 7. I'll be having a round with them at their place next week which will be nice.
