Oh I do wish I lived besides the seaside

Today was a good autumn day up here. The beaches are great, similar to those on the NW, N Wales coast. Great sand, unspoilt. I live 8 miles or so inland but work on the coast. The downside of the coast up here is that they get a lot of sea frets which really drop the temperatures. The standard temperature difference is 3-4C but in summer with the frets it can be 5-6C. Big differences. You tend to need to wrap up on the beaches here so spring / autumn where you do that automatically tend to be better. Great places for walks or runs, not so much for lying on.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday. When are you playing Bamburgh?

No matter how tenuous I sincerely hope there's no link between items 1&3

It it is going to be odd packing shorts in four weeks to play golf coz at the mo am bungee up wi flu and it's cold.

I live on the Scottish coast now but miss the more seasonal weather that you get where I used to live way inland in the Highlands, when I did live inland before I used to get fed up of snow and wanted to move to the coast for winter golf but my ropey shoulder put paid to that so I now miss the snow again......never content...sigh.

Actually you've struck a chord with me there - I miss proper snow like I used to get when I lived up in Aberdeenshire - snow lies for about a day at most here
