I believe it was a comment of if Clarke won the open then Norther Ireland should retire as a joke and said I dont know what they would do if Clarke won it after McDowell and McIlroy and the other commentator said maybe stop fighting?

Clarkey (my former clubmate) is a Protestant but happily places for Ireland, Rory's father is RC but Rory went to a state (effectively Protestant) school, and GMac is comfortably liked by both sides. All play under a variety of flags and represent all the people in NI.
So these guys are about as well integrated and as good an example to others as you could hope for.
