I have owned an odyssey white hot no 1 for about 6 or 7 years now and have recently started to notice really tiny hairline cracks appearing on the face and wondered if this could be affecting the way the ball reacts off the face.
Also if i were to purchase a new putter just wondered what people thought of the taylor made rossa range for feel as i have liked the look of these putters for a while

I would imagine the cracks would have a dampening effect on your putt. When the putter strikes the ball the cracks would close depending on how hard the stike is, and what size cracks. It;s sure to give you some inconsistancy.

TM Rossa........well I love mine.

If the insert is cracking, it is time for a new putter. There is no way it will give a consisent roll once the insert starts to degrade. It will only get worse.

Don't like Oddessy putters anyway, they all sit closed.

Buy a scotty.

This happened to a friend of mine, he chanced his arm and Callaway/Odyssey changed his putter straight away, no quibble, no questions, they said they had a couple of batches of putters where the face insert started to peel/crack. His putter was over four years old at the time.

Email them or chance your arm and post yours back. I know I would!!!

Granted it was Dunlop, but when the graphite shafts split on two seperate clubs that I'd bought as my first set I wrote to them and they sent me a complete set SW - Driver completely free, they were quite good too (for dunlop!!!) Big D Graphite woods and fat shaft steel irons. - Got me started in the game so can't argue!
