The model LR refers to "a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less ". IMO a path would not qualify. However it wouldn't hurt to add a rider.
But it would seem nonsensible for 6" relief to be taken if the ball is in the middle of the path
The paths I was thinking of are sand based with lots of footprints and it also possible for the ball to embed in the sand. Lifting and placing with 6" would be of great value.
If you say a sprinkler head is considered to be in the area but the path not. What is the basis for saying this. Are you going by the size of the 'obstruction'? If yes what measurements are you using?
