Played on Sunday and hacked my way round struggling to break 90 (finished with 87) decided after washing the car to go a squeeze in a quick 9 holes. Even though it was a stronger wind today, around 20 mph I guess, I managed to go round 2 over gross!

Cannot wait to go out tomorrow in the midweek open and see it I can keep it going although I fully expect to collapse as usual!

P.S. how much we playing for on Friday Steve   ;)

I was in a similar position last weekend Chris.Turned up for Saturdays comp full of confidence and feeling good about my game,81 shots later i was nearly suicidal.Kept putting myself in good positions off the tee, then continually hooking every approach shot. When i did get on the green my putting was just as bad,had no end of putts inside 10 feet that never even threatened the hole.
Decided to try again sunday morning in the captains fiddle, even after over indulging on the Merlot saturday night, and feeling a little the worse for wear when my alarm went off at 6.30,i played much better.Managed to shoot 74 which could of been 69 or 70 had a few putts dropped instead of lipping out.
I think expectation can sometimes be your worst enemy.

Youre playing 3-4 times a week and shooting 2 over gross and I havent hit a ball in 3 months and you ask how much we playing for:rolleyes:

Typical bloody west coaster, trying to take advantage of people:whistle:

P.S. Good shooting today, looking forward to Friday

Well done!.... that had better be with your new swing!!!! :ears:

It is coming on! All I need to do is make it last for the 18 but after all my slapping about last year it was nice to play some decent stuff 4 bogies 2 birdies and 3 pars (just missed an eagle putt by 2 inches :angry:)

I'm another who turned up at the weekend full of confidence (the new glass half full Homer for 2012) and didn't play great in the Saturday swindle. Not a prob, I'd been out and played and so a case of blowing the cobwebs off having gone back to work after Chrimbo. Sadly Sunday in the stableford was worse and it was like my swing was stolen between the practice ground where I hit it reasonably warming up and the first tee. Not sure what hung over Royal Ascot on Sunday but everyone seemed to have a shocker, including a lot of the low handicappers who are normally so consistent. A tad better at the range tonight but not quite back where I'd like it
