Played in the mens open @ Notts yesterday, and it just impresses me more and more everytime i go there.

I have no doubt that it is massively underrated and deserves to be much higher up in rankings (currently 22nd in england on the top 100 golf courses website).

I really like Notts too, it is ranked 20th in England in the current GM rankings and I have played all the courses ranked above it and think it's position is about right.

Of the courses i've played above it (on the GM list), i'd rank it above - West Course, Royal Liverpool and Hankley Common.

Obviously at the top end, so little separates all of the best, Notts just wows me.

Its a lovely course with some fantastic holes, I am sure it would be higher up if it didn't have a few bland holes.

The 1st is dull, the 12th is hideous and the 14th is a very average hole.

The 2nd, 10th 11th 13th,15th,16th,17th 18th are cracking holes.

12 is a great hole and 14 is a cracker of the backs....

I cant say I agree with that :ears:.

12th is the worst hole on the course.

14th is a fairly average hole IMO.

I would agree that the 1st is the weakest on the course though.
