Played Worplesdon golf club today for the first time, shot 8 over playing off 18!, talk about bandit. So chuffed cause the pins were tucked away in there hardest positions and the white tees were as far back as possible (surrey county junior comp monday).

Course was in perfect nick, greens running fast and true, fairways need a touch of water in some places to make it perfect. Quite possibly played the best shot of my life on 17, had 118 to go, slightly downwind pin was on the back tier, on a downslope, my ball was in a divot, so deep that the ball was below groundlevel. I hit sandwedge having to clear a tall bunker short of the green, then making it stay on the green. I hit the ball so hard out of this divot, it flew 2 metres higher than the bunker, hit the upslope of the tier bounced up and stopped dead 4 feet from the hole, (I missed the putt so we wont talk about that one)

Used a Bushnell rangefinder for the first time today, (a mate has one) it was a tour v2, incredible bit of kit that is. Came home and immediately purchased one, I got a Bushnell Medalist.

Do any of you have a bushnell and do you rate it?, I chose this over a Skycaddie because once you pay the initial some for the bushnell there are no extra costs, it can be used anywhere for free, without any course downloads etc...

From a very belated golfer,
Liam

Liam. Great round on a nice course.

Did you win and what cut did you get?

Did your session with our Stewart help at all? If so I will gladly give him some feedback :)

Leftie, it was just a bounce game for me, but we were playing as if it was a competition, cause the 2 guys were playing in the medal.

It really is a cracking course, and Homer i meant the course was set up for the comp, im not playing in it haha! + I think its a girls comp.

I've got a Bushnell Pinseeker (with slope). Highly illegal but great. Gives me great confidence when I stand over the ball knowing I'm not gonna hit it 30 yards over the green.

Great example was playing with Atticus at Carnoustie. Flat calm day. Measured one of the par 3's with it, struck it perfect and the pitchmark was 12 inches behind the hole. Naturally I missed the 3 foot putt but they're hyper accurate.
