Played Worplesdon golf club today for the first time, shot 8 over playing off 18!, talk about bandit. So chuffed cause the pins were tucked away in there hardest positions and the white tees were as far back as possible (surrey county junior comp monday).
Course was in perfect nick, greens running fast and true, fairways need a touch of water in some places to make it perfect. Quite possibly played the best shot of my life on 17, had 118 to go, slightly downwind pin was on the back tier, on a downslope, my ball was in a divot, so deep that the ball was below groundlevel. I hit sandwedge having to clear a tall bunker short of the green, then making it stay on the green. I hit the ball so hard out of this divot, it flew 2 metres higher than the bunker, hit the upslope of the tier bounced up and stopped dead 4 feet from the hole, (I missed the putt so we wont talk about that one)
Used a Bushnell rangefinder for the first time today, (a mate has one) it was a tour v2, incredible bit of kit that is. Came home and immediately purchased one, I got a Bushnell Medalist.
Do any of you have a bushnell and do you rate it?, I chose this over a Skycaddie because once you pay the initial some for the bushnell there are no extra costs, it can be used anywhere for free, without any course downloads etc...
From a very belated golfer,
Liam
