Northumberland 22nd October

Myself and 'the boss' are having a few days in Northumberland 21 to 23 October staying at a Spa Hotel near Alnwick - i'm hoping to get a round in (I have a permission slip signed!) on 22nd, preferably a links course:-
- anyone local and fancy a game?
- anyone fancy hosting me and able to guide me round?
- in case i don't get any of the above - recommendations?

Quite happy to reciprocate at some point down in Cambridgeshire.

Hi, I'm at a Parkland course, and can not be off on that Tuesday. However, my recommendations would be:

Links:

Dunstanburgh (would be my first choice if links)
Bamburgh
Newbiggin
Seahouses
Alnmouth Village (9 hole course but you can do 18)

Not links but on cliffs and near to you:

Alnmouth GC (Foxton)
really nice course, drains well, Alnmouth is a lovely little village to pop around after

The above are classic Northumberland courses.

I would only add 1 course to what Lord T has listed and that is Goswick GC, imo, best Links course in the NE.

I played Newbiggin a few weeks back and that is a great course.

Unfortunately I am also unavailable on 22nd.

You definitely hit lucky with the weather, it's been a really good week. Smashing course, with some lovely coastal scenery. Very friendly clubhouse, open to all and sundry, which I like as well.

Brilliant track. Played there in August 2024. The signature hole, the short Par 3 with the castle as the backdrop is a cracker.

We were in Northumberland early summer this year.
Had a great time. Dunstanburgh is a great spot.
