96 wasn't he? and by all accounts a really nice guy as well.

At least there is plenty of memories left behind - a real star!

Living on the Isle of Man I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Norman on 4 or 5 occasions, he was a absolute gent and legend everytime, always had a smile on his face and he will be sorely missed by everyone

RIP Sir Norman Wisdom (true Legend)

Crikey, I thought we'd lost him years ago

A brilliant performer, but I found it increadibly sad to watch him don the flat cap and then deliberately fall over when he was well into his 70s and 80s. Just to get a laugh

In his later years I preferred seeing the ( albeit few ) more serious roles he took on.

A master of his art.

Absolute legend.

As the years pass the kings of comedy get fewer and fewer. Not many left now.
Can't for the life of me think that in 50 years time jim Davidson, ricky gervais et al will be thought of in the same light

Not even in the same league while they are still alive. A comic genius, hugely underrated actor and untiring charity worker. One of the last greats!

One of my favourite old films, (can't think of the title)
when he sung, "Don't laugh at me 'cos I'm a fool", used to bring tears to my eyes, probably still would now.

A true, "Legend", in every sense of the word.

Rest in peace - Sir Norman Wisdom.

Apparently he did this after getting his Sirdom and the Queen was highly amused ....

Pure genius and far more appreciated abroad than in England :(
