No sky!!

Not having Sky for the Ryder Cup is frustrating. Is anyone one else in the same boat and tried Sky Sports Mobile for £6 a month on their iPhone?

I'm thinking of doing it just for the Ryder Cup.

Ta.

I'm a Sky Customer and downloaded the Sky Mobile App for my iPod Touch as I'm away this weekend but should still be able to get a wireless signal.

It's free for me until the end of the year, but I have to say it's an impressive service thus far. I've been using it to watch bits of Sky Sports whilst taking a number 2 at the office :D.

If you don't currently pay a sky subscription and you can "pay-as-you go" on a monthly £6 fee, I'd say it was very worth it! I will be cancelling my subscription before the end of the year as I refuse to pay sky twice for the same service but until the end of the year as a free service, I'll continue to use it.

Got Sky, but lacking in time to watch tomorrow. Will be glued to it Saturday afternoon onwards though. Will only see it tomorrow if it rains in Watford. Come on weather, sort yourself out.

i am a sky customer, but i hate football and F1 is on the BBC so i dont get the sport package. maybe i should get it for a month.... i hate giving sky money.

ah your local to me then i guess.

Going to be relying on 5Live for the weekend. If I wish hard enough do you think Sky will give me a dish and a box for a week for nothing??

Read carefully Hapless, the cost of Sky Mobile may be £6 per month, but they charge £17.50 on top for access every month. Also, if you forget to cancel in Jan 11 it ranps up to an eye watering £35 per month!!

Get down the pub or befriend someone with Sky is my advice :D

It's only £17.50 until January and £35 a month thereafter for access via an iPad. For iPhone access, it's only £6 a month.

Taken from the store.

"How much does Sky Mobile TV cost?
If you do not qualify for the Sky Sports offer Sky Mobile TV will cost £6 (UK) or €7 (ROI) per month for iPhone/iPod touch access. For access on iPad and iPhone/iPod touch Sky Mobile TV will cost £17.50 (UK) or €27 (ROI) per month until 31st December 2010. From 1st January 2011 you will automatically be charged £35 (UK) or €54 (ROI) per month until you unsubscribe.

Your subscription is limited to one iPhone or iPod touch and one iPad."

Lifted directly from the app store. It would appear that as an iphone user I will be charged £35pm from 1st Jan 2011. Unless I'm reading it wrong.

It says iphone cost is £6pm, then it says that iphone is £17.50pm and then £35pm next year. Which is it? I'm confused. :D

And for that reason. I'm out! :(

I had it for a couple of months and it cost me £6 per month.

If you go for it one thing to be aware of is if you're watching on a 3G signal and don't have unlimited internet access.

I'm on a bolt-on which gives me 500mb per month.

I watched tv for 45 mins one lunchtime and it used 144mb of my allowance.

I think i'll stay down the golf club from Saturday morning until Sunday night, don't think the wife and kids will never miss me. Don't forget if you only have council telly there's 2 hours of highlights at 2030 1st two days and 1930 on final day on BBC2.
