Next month's debate

Lengthening the road hole will be seen to be a big mistake it is a classic hole and card wrecker it should have more thicker rough with a narrower fairway to make every one hit it straight and maybe lose a bit of distance to keep it on the short stuff.

Vig the hotel doesn't come into play, you drive over the old railway sheds not the hotel so this whole 'raise the height of the hotel' is a pile of bollox as it aint in play....if you slice the arse off the tee shot then you can hit the hotel but as the hotel lies OOB it aint in play.

hey `vig`
the hotels not in play - there are sheds that u drive over and tiger line is down the right which runs parallel with the hotel ,but u don`t actually hit it over the hotel ..there is the `old course hotel` written on the sheds and u pick a word or letter from this as ur line off the tee ;)

Thought you pick your "o" from the "Old Course Hotel" on the sheds

o from old = bail out chicken line left
o from course = most often picked for centre of the fairway
o from hotel = brave man line down right hand side of fairway usually means that you find your ball in the hotel grounds

The general consensus is that lengthening the hole will spoil things.

If changes have to be made, why not do the opposite and bring the tee forward 100 yards and let the big boys try and stop their drive on the green...risk and reward at its best :)

...it would be good viewing on day 4 if the jug is on the line.
