It's fast approaching New years eve/hogmanay and I have to say I loath it. It's just so false, you get drunk, fall out with people, get drunker, promise loads of things you will never do and for an evening really believe that things will be better in the morning. Do you think different?

Not fussed either, happy to see in the bells at home with a Scotch or 2 then get off to bed. With 2 wee ones I need some sleep.
Can't stand the Scottish 'hogmanay shows' on tv, rather just watch a good movie....

God I'm old!

Do I want to pay for a taxi to take me to a room that I have to pay to get into which is full of drunk teenagers, avoid the fights, the drugs and try and shut out the techno/garage/music and still pretend to be having a good time?

I think not.
A quiet night in for me and a mug of ovaltine

Used to love it until pubs atarted charging you to get in - what a rip-off.
Parties can be either great average or dull so don't go for them much either. Tend to stay at home and have a beer or 2 instead - much easier to do with the Boy now. Babysitting costs on New Year's Eve must be horrendous!!

I will be at home with one of the 4 bottles of whiskey i got for crimbo (are they trying to tell me something) watching Jools Holland's Hootenanny, which is about the best out there

Will make a resolution to play more golf and then spend the rest of the year fighting with HID to achieve it.

Happy New Year To All

I'll become a year older overnight, so nothing to celebrate for me
Plus there is a Texas Scramble at the club on New Years day which I might just well put my name down for.
Don't want to be hungover for that

I couldnt really be arsed either about it...I dont drink and i think that the whole thing is too commercialised....The only ones that get anything good out of it are the brewry's and nightclubs.......
Plus as an earlier post mentioned everyone tends to go nuts and fall out with each other.....

Hate it. Doing the same as I do every year - Stay in with 3 bottles of my favourite Champagne and a decent cigar. Try and kill myself with fireworks about midnight and watch the BBC coverage on the TV. Good Times! This year im doing it with my Fiancés parents and little brother + Sis – Wish me luck.

Awfully over the top if you 'hate' it HTL... :D ;)

I hate going out for it I should have said – Thank you so much for pointing that out to me Dodger. Every knob is out and Chavs fallen about pissed and wanting a fight. URGH! Have been to a restaurant for it a few times and as the clock strikes 12 you have to hug and kiss random people – what fun – NOT!
