Ach who cares, I've still got six brand spanking new, never hit Callaway Prototype balls waiting to be hit in anger!
Its been snow and ice, with more snow, a little bit more ice, then some more ice followed by a wee bit more snow then ice again (you get the picture!!)ever since they bloomin well arrived.
Very impressed with the Callaway prototypes, the S one goes miles.
Stood on the first and hit driver. I normally draw the ball and hit quite an aggressive line towards some trees about 250 yards up on the right hand side and look to bring it back.
I leaked it out to the right and thought "Crap! That's in the trees." I got up there and found that my lovely new Callaway had actually cleared them going a full 20 yards past where I would normally have finished.
I hit it solid but nothing special and it doesn't feel like a brick but, blimey, it really goes. Nice to putt with too.
I then lost one on the 15th and did want to risk another one as I've only got two left now. Saving them for a proper game.
I tried mine and have to say I'm impressed great distance with really good stopping power as well. If they come down in price as they all do when released I may swap my z-stars for them if they are within a pound or two.
I found the covers quite poor. I hit a lovely three iron on our first with the (s) and when I got to the ball the cover was all scuffed. I lost this later on in the round, replaced it with the (z) and the same thing happened. They were nice to hit though and they felt nice off the putter.
