New shoes!!!!

I bought a pair of adidas 360s and they have just about made a year, they get wet and cold eveyrtime I play these days, not to mention one of the spikes fell off...anyway, got myself a pair of footjoys as well

Gotta keep the feet dry, at the least

There were lab tests done and the Footjoys bring your handicap down by 2 shots a round for exactly 6 months...you'll see

Just the thing then.

I think you just overthink the game, that's right a game. It's tough i know, but just go out and play, enjoy it.

When i started, not that long ago, i wasn't on here, i didn't know anyone who knew anything about equipment or cared about it either. I just played and my handicap came down in no time.

I think a lot of people loose sight of that, just play as much as you can and have fun!!!

I'm doing the fun thing but can only do it on bounce rounds or team comps when I play and score well :). Still can't do it in a medal though :(

Never had an issue with FJ's splitting or leaking and I've 11 pairs. I always let them dry properly and pack them with newspaper and then polish them whe they are dry. Keeps the leather nice and soft. Add a bit of dubbing in once in a while and some have been on the go for the last five years without a prob. Even the newer models like the Icon and the dryjoys have been like slippers out of the box and never caused a problem. I'm keen to see these new FJ's in the flesh before deciding if they represent value for money or are way overpriced.

I must say that I do like the Synr-G shoes, but they confuse me. I mean what is the point of a shoe with 2 year waterproof warranty when there's a great big mesh vent on the side?

They have arrived!!!! Extremely happy especially as the price has gone up to £179 pretty much everywhere. Hoping to get a chance to try them out at the range on Friday, but having tried them on and had some pretend practice swings indoors they are comfy, snug and most definitely seem to give much more stability. Full review to follow when I've taken them on the course. Thank you to the outlaws for the early Xmas present and thank you to Direct Golf for the amazing deal! :)

Got my free ones last week and took them down the range. Very comy and very stable. Not sure how they justify the price tag as I think the Icon are a better looking (more expensive looking at least) but as the price was good (thanks to FJ and GM) so can't complain. The course was wet and muddy on Saturday so didn't want to get them all dirty!!

Exactly the same here Homer.

I've had a few pairs of AQL's now and never had an issue with any of them. Comfy straight out of the box and excellent in most conditions.

When it comes to footwaer for golf, I won't buy anything other than Footjoy.

I think they can only justify the cost on performance benefits, though I was surprised at how the outriggers aren't so prominent when you've got them on (as I have size 12 boats I thought these shoes would look massive). As for not taking them on the course because it was muddy Imelda Marcos, I guess maybe one day when I have more cash I'll be able to have a wardrobe full of shoes to go with different outfits and a couple of special 'oooh it's a bit muddy today pairs' ;)

Till then I'll have to rely on Xmas and birthday's to fuel my golfing purchases, so come rain or shine mine are getting worn next time out as my only other pair of shoes have had it!

My new Addidas shoes have wrecked my heels, so while waiting for them to recover have been wearing an old pair of FJ classic tours, coated in dubbin. Very comfy, always were.

I have never had my feet wrecked by a pair of FJ shoes, unless I count trench foot (FJ Sports, should be called FJ water sports).

My XPS1 have arrived. I wore them round the office this morning. They will be summer (ish) use only for now. That said, I have a few other pairs of summer shoes too, so I might not wait. Who knows?

Previous pairs of FJ have been fine. I have had loads of dryjoys and AQLs, and they have never leaked til they started looking tatty. The only pair I have not been impressed with are the last pair of Sports. These lasted a year, and I only wore them in the wet, so not heavy use (i often play 5 times a week).

just got 2 sets of adidas powergrind for £90.00, reduced from £70 per pair. black pair for the winter, white pair for the summer. They feel as stable as the FJ sports ive worn this yeah, but from ive been told range work really stresses the shoes due to the range matts not having much give. ill use the old FJ for the range, and the new ones for playing.

Would have liked the XPS's, but the FJ Sports although comfy have not lasted as long as id expect from £100 shoes.

Tiger, I think your being a touch optimistic. My first fj sports lasted a month, replacements lasted just past a year, that was averaging 1 game a week.

This is exactly why my next slippers won't be fj

Really, thats bad luck, i've had a good few pairs of FJ's and never had a problem. Mrs AAC has just treated me to a pair of Myjoy Icon's, wore them yesterday felt superb.
