I'm a happy bunny. Last week my golf shoes split and I only have the one pair. The in laws gave me some cash for Xmas to buy myself a pressie and I've just pre-ordered a pair of Footjoy XPS-1 from Direct Golf. They've got 26% off at the moment and I used the £10 off voucher they sent me as well so £133 wasn't too shabby at all given the £195 RRP! Still a LOT of money for golf shoes but given I used to spend £80 a year on football boots, £130 every two years for golf spikes seems reasonable.

Just hope they live up to the hype!!!!

PS please can no one come and rain on my parade. I've had a really rubbish day :(

Yeah I know but to be honest I know a few people were interested in buying them but were only interested if the price was around £130 so wanted to share the deal with others. *braces himself for torrent of abuse*

Havent paid for golf shoes for about 5 years now. After I've had them about 11 months, taken back to the pro shop, tell them they leak, they send them off under the years waterproof guarantee, hey presto I get new shoes ;)

Tiger, I think your being a touch optimistic. My first fj sports lasted a month, replacements lasted just past a year, that was averaging 1 game a week.

This is exactly why my next slippers won't be fj

We'll see about duration but I've only ever had one pair of golf shoes FJ dryjoys and I have neglected them over the past six months and they dried out and split. No problems for the 18 months before that so there is a lesson in that story. Hope to get at least two years out of this pair. Not got a pic yet as they are on pre-order but will post one with a review when they arrive.

PS thanks snaphook :)

I wear my football boots, they seem to give much better traction in the winter when I'm ploughing a muddy path with my trolley

I just spent £90 on a pair of ecco street & can't bring myself to wear them given the saturated condition of the course so will have to wait a few more weeks

i'm not one to spend a lot on golf shoes but after reading the latest reviews on them i think i would buy them.

money well spent if and even more so at that reduced price.

I'm still waiting for mine to turn up from the Footjoy day. Apparently they were ready to be shipped a couple of weeks ago but still no sign

If only! :( What I need is six sessions with Jamil Qureshi or Bob Rotella to sort my blinking head out. Should play well tomorrow though as it's a Texas scramble

Just the thing then.

I think you just overthink the game, that's right a game. It's tough i know, but just go out and play, enjoy it.

When i started, not that long ago, i wasn't on here, i didn't know anyone who knew anything about equipment or cared about it either. I just played and my handicap came down in no time.

I think a lot of people loose sight of that, just play as much as you can and have fun!!!

Get yourself down to the coast and play a links track.
