Well the FJ Sports are getting a bit tiered now, so it time for a new set which her in doors has kindly offered to buy for Christmas. The FJ haven't been a bad shoe, and i wouldn't argue about wearing another pair, but the current stuff out looks a bit bland and i not prepared to pay the suggested prices that are being quoted for the new XPS jobbies...

So I've looked at some other brands, with so far the Adidas Powergrind (£60.00) or ATV 360 (£120) being in the running.

Any other good suggestions out there around the £100 mark, and any decent web sites to view them on, I normally use golfshoesdirect but for some unknown reason their site seems to have a very patchy range on it at the moment which is very unlike them,

Thanks in advance
OS.

Golfshoesdirect are in the process of changing websites, they have more stock than the site currently shows if you phone them up. They are also unable to list some of the shoes due to manufacturer restrictions (I bought from them last week).

I picked up a pair of Adipures for £100, only worn them once and very happy with them so far. I liked the tour 360s but the heel used to wear out after a few mths, hopefully the leather interior on the adipures will prevent this from happening.

I quite fancy the new Nike Dunks which come out in Feb. No good for Christmas, but I like the trainer look of them, as it will annoy the heck out of the traditionalists at my club. Might get a pair for next summer.

nice one guys,

fundy, i did wonder if something was up, they were 25% cheaper than everyone else on fj sports, the first pair split and they replaced them no quibble.

Well you won't be surprised to hear me give a big shout for the Puma range, like what you see 'ere

I like the modern sportier look, so love most of the Puma lot. Not to everyone's taste visually I'm sure, but they are really comfy and quality seems good so far. Mine are the Jigg, which come in around £80.

If you like the more modern style, I'd have a look at Trendy Golf or Scottsdale for more along the same lines.

I have owned a few pairs of Dunks as regular trainers.. a stone cold classic. Definitely interested in a pair for summer. The old fart irritant factor is just an added bonus :D

looking at the Puma Jigg myself, Like the look and now happy someone else wears and likes them

What you can't see in most pics is that on the inside of the foot, there's a massive Puma leaping cat logo instead of the swoosh thing... more bling for your buck!

Don't wimp out and go for the black version though... it's gotta be orange. Useful for being found if it gets foggy :p

Can I suggest www.redfiregolf.co.uk they do great shoes as some of you know they are a my shoe sponsor, but apart from this I have to say I am very impressed with the shoes, they felt like slippers straight out of the box and they have different styles to suit pretty much everyone's tastes. If anyone goes on their website and likes a pair, send the guys an email and if you say that you know me, they may do a little discount on full price shoes!

What a beautiful range of shoes.

What kind of maintenance do these shoes require, lets say you've played a round in the rain and they're wet and muddy. Would these be suitable for such conditions would be another question and sensibly how long would these last?

I find FJ's and excellent shoe but to be honest they only last a little more than a year for waterproof. I've worn Nike before too but the coating of those shoes seemed to last less than a year before blistering so is it a matter of you get what you pay for?

The Redfire shoes do look pretty good but I like the Adidas ATV 360 and would consider trying to rekindle my long abandoned relationship with adidas. I love their trainers, footie boots etc but could never get a pair of golf shoes to fit properly. Maybe these are the ones but there again I've heard so many horror stories of them leaking or splitting (adidas in general not the ATV's). Personally if I was going to recommend an all round shoe it would be FJ dryjoy all day long. I can't believe Murph can have exhausted the Myjoy possibilities and giving some of his colour combos there are some real dazzlers still waiting to come out

I have the adidas tour, nice shoe but find them a bit "clumsy". As I wear Ecco shoes I bought myself a pair of Ecco casual style golf shoe, "sorry I dont know the name". A fantasitc shoe, really like them, fit like a glove, the only problem I have is they let water in when I visit the wet rough.
I am trying to keep out of the wet rough, but will probably have to give them a break until the summer.
I can only highly recommend.

I was so near to buying a pair of Redfire shoes and they are high up the list for my next ones. I like something a bit different and they very much fit the bill. What stopped me buying them, a pair of FJ Contours with the Boa lacing system for under £50 (thanks for the heads up on those Imurg, I have since bought pairs as presents for my dad and brother).
