Well just been getting back into golf over the past six weeks. Medal today and had a terrible start. Three lost balls and stood on the 3rd tee +9. Been reading a lot of Bob Rotella recently as well as working on my set up and backswing. Shrugged off my bad start and despite taking 17 blows for the first two holes, finished the front nine with a 48. Had a little wobble 10-12 (double, bogey, triple) but tidied it up again to come back in with a 46 for 94 nett 68 (-3). Should get a little cut but mainly happy with keeping my head and posting a score. Hopefully the sign of things to come and a solid PB off the white tees. Two more chances to break 90 this year and feeling confident I can still do it :D

Keep it up and you'll get there. I'm just starting out so breaking 100 seems like a dream for me.

What was the best/worst aspects of your round in terms of shot/club type?

Thanks fella :0) I only hit five bad shots today. Pushed my opening tee shot (lost ball), 2nd hole hit a shank OOB and pulled another into the gorse which was lost. 10th hit a shank on a 95 yard pitch from the middle of the fairway scored double bogey. Finally topped one into the gorse on the 12th lost ball. But they cost me a total of ten shots.

That said I drove the ball really well and managed the course well. I hit 69% of fairways and 33% GIR and made 17% of my scrambles. The real positive for me is that I know that even despite the penalties I had a few lapses of concentration which probably cost me a few more shots. I'm just getting back into my regular lessons and practice so I'm really excited about how things are progressing

Nice one Tiger.
A cut's a cut - let's hope you can break 90 by Winter.....

Jeez, you'll be giving me a scratch game soon too.......

Well done Tiger. a PB is a PB

Great work, keep it up, you can see that the potential is there, just within grasping distance

tantalisingly close,

Grab it buddy

Fragger

Well done.
My target is to hit 90 regularly as well.
I hit 97 in a Medal yesterday of the whites (net 74) & I was disappointed not to score lower, but made a few errors on the back 9 which cost me dearly.

I went back out today & hit 92 off the yellows ( a PB for me)
Keep at it, I am determined to crack 90 by the end of the season.

Well done, and you know where you can pick up shots, I am also hoping to break 90 iun a comp this year, 93 yesterday was my best so far.

Nice one Tiger, I had a 94 today but was pee'd off with it as played pretty well apart from 5 crap holes of 3 doubles and 2 trebles... what could have been (as always)

Sub 90 next m8, you know you can do it

Nice shooting. Keep reading Bobs book and heed the advice. I have and now I really enjoy playing again as I was very close to giving the game up.

Good going Tiger , just in time for our little get together in a couple of weeks. You may get a bigger cut with shooting those higher first two holes.

Yes looking forward to it JD :0) I get two shots on both those holes so will get just one shot back for h'cap purposes. Waiting for the result on HDID so I can see what CSS finished as. Could be anything from 69 - 71 so expecting a cut between 0.8 and 1.6 but either way it will mean I'm off 25.

Still waiting for confirmation from CK, he's trying to wriggle out of something. Hope it's not a wet suit or we might be waiting some time ;0)

NB one thing I should add is thank you to all the people on here that keep going on about playing for gross score rather than stableford points. I think it helps my course management and decision making <thumbs up>

Results are in and that's my second medal win of the season confirmed and now down to 24.9. I lost my way a bit over the summer but that was to be expected with a new baby. Short game practice tonight, lesson next week and roll on the Autumn Series and October medal :0)

Good shooting Tiger. Not only to recover form a bad start but to put the odd "pipe!" behind you during the round is good stuff.

I had an attack of the pipes yesterday, 2 in a row both OB :(
