new moderators

TBH I'm in two minds about this.

On the one hand us mere mortals won't get to see the blatant spamming that we have grown to hate, while on the other we won't get to see Homer's well crafted put downs, sandwich recipes et al, and, dare I say, the left handed indecipherable foreign language ramblings of a certain nameless plonker.

I don't see why congratulations/ worship are in order as I don't consider anyone who has been selected to be superior just for being so and I'm sure those chosen would agree. I would however say that the choices are very good

Oh and like someone else said we need to be careful that we don't become over run with moderators.

Anyway lets hope they have little to do, and continue partaking in the forum in the exact same way as before, only using their new found power if truly necessary. I am sure this will be the case with those who have had the honor bestowed upon them.

Oh, yeh.....

I had some pain in my hands last week. As you know, I play music for a living.....doc reckons it's just over-doing it.

BUT I couldn't live with the "carpal tunnel" tag.....

call me superstitious....

That, and I wanted to start the counter at 1 post again, as I'm trying to get some work mates to join up....

Guys I dont think you are going to see a big change with the Mods. None of us are here for a power trip or to start playing online Policeman.

What you will see though is less of the spam that is taking up space in the forums that could be used for genuine user posts.

I know guidelines are being drawn up at the moment to keep the forum a nice respectable place. This place is getting mega busy now and I do beleive it is gonna keep growing and growing due to the new pages.

Dont forget, this forum is the online face of the Golf Monthly name so it has to be upheld as a respectable forum and it is what we ALL should be looking to acheive.

I, and I am sure the rest of the mods appreciate your future efforts to keep the forum as uninterupted as possible.

EDIT: It is also a good thing for new (and old) users to see mods about all the time incase they feel they need to ask for help or direction.

I can't make up my mind if that is sarcasm, a tad of jealousy or an honest opinion. Masonic Lodges??? It is a forum on a public domain which means anyone is entitled to post. However if someone came on here with views that were left wing of Genghis Khan, swearing or posting obnoxious or offensive remarks then because it is a said forum they should remain in place even though there may be women and minors viewing?

What about one time posters coming on and using the site for free publicity. Why should they benefit in any way (oh yes thats how you started!) whilst if I was pushing a product or a website I'd expect to pay for the privilege. I'm NOT saying you can't advertise goods and services on here but at least make the effort to join in for a while first.

I actually think its quite liberating that GM trust these people with their board and know that they will be discretionary about pulling any posts. They are all well known to us and none seem the sort to pull a post on a whim. I say let it ride and see where we go. And if we are a lodge please remember the correct handshake

A democracy my arse, this is ruffle feather time again. It’s not supposed to be, It’s about opinions, thoughts and ideas from all sides. After all we’re not running a country, electing a councillor or really making decisions or taking votes. The only votes that happen on here is what ball you use and if the moderators say the best is the commando then commando it is for us all.

That’s my opinion and that is also the opinion of the Buffalo forum moderators. All other opinions are null and void; they don’t matter, as from the formation of the magnificent seven. As we all know, the magnificent seven were never wrong.

The moderators here and on any forum only exist to do daily housekeeping on offensive or non valid posts. Its not to tell anyone what they can and cant do, they must live by the forum rules also.
