Japanese imports

I've become obsessed with the idea of some new forged irons from one of the big three forging houses and have found, unsurprisingly, there are loads on eBay if I'm willing to import from Japan directly. Has anyone done this? Any advice? Any ideas on tax costs for used equipment?
I know my Scotty stuff became even more stupidly priced when I started getting hit for import tax

I've bought wedge heads from Japan in the past.

I just expect to be hit with an approx 25% extra once arrived, duty/tax etc....

I'm pretty sure we now have a free trade agreement with Japan, part of an agreement with a number of countries in far flung places that came out after you know what. You would need to double check but whilst you would still have to pay customs clearance and VAT there may no longer be duty to pay. Check this out though, you don't want any nasty surprises.
