Love the look of the subscribers cover, I do hate the little flappy bits that get ripped when I pull them in and out of the draw.

Hi sneds - if you do take out the subscription today I think chances are first one you'll get is May coverdated issue as it can take up to six weeks to activate a new subscription.

However I'll happily send you am April subscriber issue FOC if you email me your home address

Love the look of the subscribers cover. It is reminiscent of the Golf Digest style with bold image and neatly plotted text. Definitely gets a thumbs up from me as it helps the magazine stand out from the crowd and away from the usual diatribe that Today's Golfer come out with every month (ie learn this swing, buy these clubs blah blah blah). I love the fact Golf Monthly contains plenty of debate and opinion. Keep up the good work.

Well done Golf Monthly, the subscriber cover looks 21st century! It prompted me to log in to the subscriber page to check my renewal date, which is not 'til July, so looking forward to receiving it.

I might be wrong, but I don't think that the shelf edition has a flappy bit, it's just a banner on the left, right?

I think GM got enough negative feedback about the flappy bits at the reader review.

It seems that the overwhelming consensus is that we want the GM cover to look clean, classy and sophisticate. I definitely think they hve achieved this with the subscribers version. The shelf version still needs to stand out from competitiors hence the business and focus on tips to improve your game

dont worry Andy and fellow flappy cover haters as Sneds has deduced its not a real flappy cover just designed to look like that - in the trade its called a 'false flag flap' - makes it easier to read the coverlines

Hi all

I have now had a load of emails requesting a free April issue subs cover issue so I have looked into getting hold of some spare copies.

Early indications are they may be a bit thin on the ground (we only have 1 in the office at the momnent!) as we only print what we need and as we know exactly how many subscribers we have then there arent always a lot of overs.

However I wont know for sure how many copies we have knocking around until next week after all the subs copies have been mailed out.

Can I thefore ask anyone who has taken out a subscription recently to phone the subs hotline on 0845 123 1231 tell them you have recenlty taken out a subscription and ask them to check which issue yours starts with.

If May coverdate is going to be your first one then let me know and I'll see what I can do. It will be dependent on how many I can get my hands on and then done on a first come first served basis
