Interesting thought on combining the z545 with z745.
I'd probably only go for 5 - PW so possibly 5 & 6 iron in z545 and the rest z745.
Hmmm....tempting.
That's what I would do........you can always change as time goes by.

You can do it with
Taylormade TP Irons - CB/MC Combo or MC/MB combo
Titliest also with the CB Forged MB combo
Callaway with the Apex and Apex Pro or Apex Pro and Apex MB combo sets
Believe Nike also do combo
Wouldn't be surprised to know if you can combo the Mizunos also
The Srixons are lovely though
Take your point but when you see all three Srixons side by side, you'll know what I mean.
Er, most of them do...you just need to order whatever spec you want. My CB/MB combo is a seamless transition. Even the 712U 3-iron ties in beautifully at the top end... Obviously buying off the shelf will restrict options. From someone who used to play Mizuno, changing to the Srixons was a no brainer. Without doubt the best irons I've ever hit and the best by far for the money. For the OP I would not dismiss the Z545 model in the longer irons, especially if your iron play is weak. The great things about the Srixons is the seamless way you can blend the set from the Z545 Z745 and even use a couple of the Z945 for your shorter irons.
No other manufacturer offers this.........
