Although i must say, you MUSTTT get one set up, or youll find it hard to launch one (I did Until) Covert standard is as safe as they come.
but on the other hand, every club ive seen so far in theis reply is.

Funny you should say that, as when I tried the covert it was a horrible experience.

Was a 9.5 stiff and could not launch the thing for love nor money and was not a fan of the noise off the face.

Have Nike irons and putter, so not out to diss Nike's golf range.

Was pretty disappointed in it to be honest.

thanks for posting those stats huds

really interesting

i also thought the smash factor looked a little low to, and i guess you didn't t really feel like you were mis hitting the good ones, i assume you typically hit your drives 240-50 with a good one on the course

im having a similar fitting next week, will be interesting for me (because im sad) to compare my stats to yours

Ping G20, TMR11S? both can be had for a decent price these days as there is newer stuff to be had, but still 2 very good drivers.

Just had a 910d2 10.5 with RIP delivered today, so I might have something to add to this soon.

£80 off preloved. I think with a bit of effort you could source any half decent driver for <£100 on the bay or similar resources. There are a number of nike vrs (not coverts) available and these are also very well thought of.

The nice thing about the 910 is that there are loads of shafts available with the surefit tip, so if you fancy fiddling about, or want a different type of shaft for soft or fast running courses you can drop one in.

We'll see. Mine is replacing a v2rapture on which I broke the butt of the shaft off in a car boot. So I don't feel too consumed with guilt about the purchase.

Thanks for the comments, really interesting & much appreciated.

For Duncan & Region3.

Smash factor will have been consistent across new & old club giving a like for like comparison will it not?

Some other points to recognise;

1) I wanted a lower launch trajectory as I hit the ball very high with a 12deg driver, not great in the wind and little carry.
2) My 'current' driver had an inbuilt offset against slicing so compromising was starting to affect my allround game. Note how Cobra grouping left of centre.
3) I don't think I'm good enough, have the time, or the money to go around hunting the elusive shaft :)

I have gained a good 10 - 15 yards with a decent hit and, now I have a consistent set of clubs, I can focus on improving my game (read swing) rather than hoping clubs will do it for me :D

Cheers
