New Club recommendations - Cheshire/Merseyside area

Thanks for all the input, by the time I have tried out all the various courses it will be too late to join most of them for this year ;).

I have been past Alder root plenty of times, not averse to a 9 hole course, I learnt to play on Allerton and have played Castle Hawk years ago.

Er, Excuse me, Royal Allerton if you dont mind!!!! Cut my teeth on the 9 hole there myself, before progressing to the championship course after a year or two.

" Do you play there?"
I have friends who are members there and a friend who is a greenkeeper there so they take me up there for a knock.I am a member of Ashton in Makerfield,a very friendly club and very nice when its dry but unfortunately a bit soggy in places in the winter. Subs are £775 which are payed half in march and the other half in september, the joining fee is £1000 which can be paid over 5 years and if you want, be added to your subs .i.e £100 extra every six months.Hope that makes sense.
