Very impressed with these guys today and their shop is fantastic! I went shopping in Southampton with the (soon to be) wife and I thought it was only fair that I'd have a look around. The shop is big, full of top gear and the staff were great!

A word of warning though.....the prices in their shop are not as cheap as they are online. The bloke said it was because all Nevada Bob golf shops are run separately or something. But he did at least price match the online price for the Adidas ATV's that I bought.

NevBob is a franchise affair. A number of their shops were taken over by Direct Golf last year, I don't know if they have all been taken over. Our local Nevbob was always good, better than AG, and still is now that it is a DG.

our NB was a great shop good people and plenty of advise, but it moved to a new driving range that has gone bust so no longer there pity as i cant stand AG and if not buying from our pro., go to COUNTY GOLF in ECCLES superb outlet and cheap.

Whereabout in Eccles is this place?

Ignore that,I know it as clubhouse golf.

Superb shop and all the staff are very helpful, I was custom fitted for my irons there and I can't recommend them enough.

wrote reply before message came through,i would sooner deal with this type of shop than any AG or similar as they are not trying to sell you what they get best profit from,if you go again as you come out of the shop turn sharp right best bacon butties in the north west.

In fairness to all the "similars" out there, AG are the only ones I know of whose mantra is sell any old crap, as long as you're pushing the high margin crap.

There use to be a NB in Reading which is now Direct Golf. Not been for a few years as it is a pain to get parked and being close to the Madejski a real no go when there is a game on. It was really well stocked and the guys seemed to know their stuff so I might be tempted to give them another go as long as I pick my time to go.

dont know there's one near you at fiddlers ferry bloody hell its expensive.
True Fit are a stand alone driving range though. The "similars" to me are your chains like AG, DG, OG & NB.

None of them (nor True Fit) push low cost high margin crap to the detriment of what suits a player like AG do (imo anyway).

True fits price tags seem very expensive but they usually do price match and they don't stock any shite like fazer etc.

If you don't ask,you don't get.

If it's the one I am thinking of, then it's called Clubhouse Golf, which technically isn't in Eccles, it's in Weaste, which is in Salford. I live about 3 miles away from it, although when I was a kid the street at the side was where I lived...Can't think of any other golf shop in the area apart from AG near the Trafford Centre.
