Nespresso machine anyone

I have the Modo Mia as I like Lavazza coffee. Great machine and I use it all the time. The problem is (like Nespresso) the pods are not widely available in supermarkets. I have only found them in Waitrose. I stock up on Amazon but sometimes I think I would rather be able to just pick them up in the weekly shop. I have had other machines before. The Dolce Gusto drinks all taste a bit sickly and I am not a fan. The Tassimo, however, was very good and I may get another one for home having moved mine to work.

I have just gone from Nespresso machine to a bean to cup machine. Main reason was the cost per cup of the Nespresso which on average is 29p. The bean to cup works out at about 5p. I can also buy the coffee beans at my local supermarket without having to mail order the capsules. I can highly recommend the Delonghi Magnifica. The coffee it produces is spectacularly good.

I agree, bean to cup is the best option and that is what I have for my filter coffee. The only problem is that it is pretty expensive to get even a basic bean to cup set up for espresso.

I like Bean 2 coffee, but as the only coffee drinker at home, I dont think it will get past HQ. I had a big sized coffee kit with a milk frother etc, but gave it away as it took up too much space and I could not get myself to clean it everytime I use it.

Have had a few Nespresso in various hotels that I stay and I like the comfort of popping in a little pod and not worrying about anything else. Been hunting for something in Black Friday deals, but half the websites seem to be down at the moment.

I agree, bean to cup is the best option and that is what I have for my filter coffee. The only problem is that it is pretty expensive to get even a basic bean to cup set up for espresso.

I think you are right if you can drink enough coffee before it goes off when you open the pack and expose it to oxygen.

I've got a 4 year old cheapest manual nespresso Krupps machine and it does me fine.. I prefer it manual so I can decide whether i want along weak coffee or a short strong one

I buy a kilo bag of beans from the local Italian cafe, use one of those old continental coffee grinders bought from ebay (similar to this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-A...all_Kitchen_Appliances_US&hash=item2591c214a8) and make it nice and strong in a cafetiere.

A happy medium is a lavazza, excellent coffee and available in supermarkets

We have an expensive Gaggia languishing in a cupboard because it doesn't make coffee as good as the AEG, and it's a lot easier to use.

ours went to the garage- lukewarm coffee at best, what a waste of money.

Bought a tassimo, hot coffee just like a cafe and really quick and easy to make- self cleaner also

I bought my tart a coffee machine last year, initially she wanted a tassimo thingy but after me leaving it til the day before Xmas eve to go and buy one, I ended up being stung for £300 for a gaggia after John Lewis had conveniently sold out of 4 of the cheaper models.

That said, she loves it and to be fair it makes a cracking cup of coffee.

Was browsing in the local Debenham, they had some Nespressos on Black Friday deals, but had changed it back to 'regular' 10% off. Luckily one of the boxes for a Citiz still had the BF label. Fair game to them as they honoured it after a bit of to and fro.. so now have a Nespresso worth 220 quid for 150.. chuffed..
