I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and am due to have nerve conduction tests next week.
Anyone had these tests .?
What’s involved?
Had my left wrist done years ago and they didn’t do these tests then.
Is it a modern thing?

Yes had them for nerve damage in my leg although they checked everywhere and told me I had carpal tunnel - these days that's by far my worst issue.

Anyhow. Think of sticky things being stuck on you and lots of pins being stuck in you...there or thereabouts :-)

Truthfully it wasn't too bad.

I had a nerve conduction test on various parts of my body last year. Slightly uncomfortable when they crank the power up, feels like your muscles are twitching. Nothing to worry about.

Two of my sisters were misdiagnosed with CTS. One of them after undergoing unnecessary surgery. Loads of other nerve issues have similar symptoms. I'd suggest getting a second opinion before undergoing any cutting.
None of us talk about medical stuff in my family - turned out, after MRIs, that 2 of us have a nerve thing at the lower end of the MS spectrum.
I also had the nerve test. Just a bit of prodding with a sharp stick connected to an electrical device.
