Has anybody come across a "N" handicap before?

We have a new member and I have added him to our handicap system based on his CDH number. He is an AWAY member with us.

All looked OK and when I synchronised with the CDH his handicap came down OK but when I ran our handicap report he is listed as an "unknown member". This is odd so I decided to log onto the CDH website and queried his details there. He shows up at the correct HOME club but his handicap is 1.6N (N is also in red type).

I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he mentioned that he had a problem with his handicap that he is trying to resolve before he makes our club his HOME club. I assume "N" handicap is some kind of flag on the CDH whilst they look into what is going on?

Just out of interest, did you go to EG (no longer EGU) directly or via your county handicap advisor?

I did neither, the player advised me that his club had taken it up with EG and after it's settled will then move his handicap over to us.

If it was me then I would have probably raised a ticket on the EG website.
